countries the diamond.

The engagement ring is traditional in many countries the diamond. There were so many diamonds that a major advertising campaign was mounted by the consortium De Beers diamonds associated with love and marriage. The reasons for change are numerous, including the difficult economic times, the bad publicity surrounding the diamond, and the lack of individuality of diamonds.

Colored stones are an attractive alternative to diamond engagement rings, because of the wide range of colors and styles of different sizes and prices. Celebrities also contribute to the participation of the fashion trend of colored stone rings. The most famous is the blue sapphire and diamonds that Prince Charles gave Lady Diana Spencer when he was appointed in 1981. Prince Andrew, the younger brother of Prince Charles, also gave his bride Sarah Ferguson an engagement ring with a gemstone in 1986 – the pigeon blood ruby.

Until now, the jewelry industry was not very excited about the marketing of engagement rings colored gemstones. Retail jewelers are knowledgeable about diamonds, but less familiar with colored gems. Surely the diamond industry prefer the status quo.

Fine colored stones can be found in a wide range of cuts and sizes. While rubies are always red (or pink-red), sapphires can be found in different colors, including blue, green, yellow and pink.
